    PRO PADEL PLAYERS

One of the greatest players to ever pick up a padel racket, Pablo Lima, supports TRUE NORTH PADEL project in Canada. The three-time number one of the world has 50 World Padel Tour to his name – one of only three players to reach half a century along with Fernando Belasteguin and Alejandra Salazar. The 36-year-old Lima was honoured at centre court of the ‘Caja Magica’ in Madrid, getting the send-off he deserves before leaving the stage for a final time.  Lima has reached two quarter-finals in the 2023 season in Abu Dhabi and Brussels with Coki Nieto. He announced at the start of 2023 that it would be his last season as a professional.  Pablo, we are looking forward to playing padel with you in Canada!

    LAS VEGAS

The Senior World Championship 2022 was successfully held in Las Vegas from 28th March to 2nd April. This event, which had already been canceled twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was the biggest padel event ever held in North America.

The tournament, organized by USPA, featured more than 500 players from all over the world, both men and women. There were 32 teams participating, and 19 nationalities were represented.

TRUE NORTH PADEL was part of the event, which celebrated competition, athletic ability, and international friendship.

TENNIS PLAYERS IN LOVE WITH PADEL

It might sound obvious, given the similarities, but there are many top tennis players who enjoy nothing more than picking up a padel paddle and heading out on court.

Most of them visited Toronto to compete in the 2023 National Open and shared with the TRUE NORTH PADEL team their love for the game.

Andy Murray has invested in the sport over the years and sees the potential for huge growth for years to come. The former world No.1 tennis player has put backing behind a company looking to develop a network of facilities.

“There is a lot of momentum behind it now,” says former tennis star Annabel Croft. “You hear more and more people talking about it. I hear lots of young and senior people talking about padel and wanting to get into it.

“It really feels like the game is on an upward curve. It can engage with people who might find tennis too difficult and that’s the beauty of padel. Each time I play padel, I come off with a big smile on my face.”
